Meta x UFC — Ultimate Barbershop
Meta AI x UFC | Immersive AI-powered fan experience
For UFC X during International Fight Week, Meta set out to create an activation that extended the energy of the sport beyond the octagon and into culture. The result was Ultimate Barbershop, an AI-powered experiential pop-up that turned a familiar community space into a branded environment where fans could explore fighter-inspired looks through Meta AI before, in some cases, making them real in the chair. Public descriptions frame the project as a 4,000-square-foot experience built to bring fans, fighters, and AI into the same seat.
In my role as EVP of Digital, I worked across digital production, creative technology, and experiential innovation to help shape projects that sit at the intersection of audience participation, emerging technology, and brand storytelling. What made this activation compelling was that it translated Meta AI from an abstract product story into a physical, highly social fan experience. Instead of simply demonstrating AI, the experience gave people a playful, personal use case: see yourself transformed through AI, then decide whether to take that experience further in real life.
The activation featured interactive magic mirrors powered by Meta AI, allowing guests to visualize themselves with signature UFC-inspired hairstyles. For selected fans and talent, the concept extended beyond simulation, with professional barbers on site delivering actual cuts and styling. The environment was also filled with UFC memorabilia and surprise appearances from well-known fighters, helping the installation feel less like a tech demo and more like a live cultural moment built for fandom, content capture, and social sharing.
From a strategic standpoint, this was a strong example of how AI can create a more engaging brand experience when it is embedded inside an intuitive, emotionally legible idea. The technology worked because it was anchored in behavior fans already understand: self-expression, identity, transformation, and sport culture. Rather than asking people to learn a new tool in a vacuum, the activation placed Meta AI inside a familiar ritual and made the interaction immediate, visual, and entertaining.
This kind of work reflects the space I’ve built my career in: helping brands turn emerging technology into real-world experiences that people actually want to engage with. It requires aligning creative concept, interaction design, technical execution, and production realities so that innovation feels seamless, not forced. Ultimate Barbershop is a strong example of using creative technology not just to attract attention, but to create memorable participation.
